Welcome to my Garden
Welcome to my little nerd garden, a digital commonplace book. Here you'll find a collection of notes, learnings, and experiences from my life as a software developer.
My name is Amy, and I have been writing software since 1997. I started out writing low level hardware drivers and controllers for a defense contractor, and moved to web application development in 2000. I work primarily with PHP as a backend developer, but know just enough JavaScript to be dangerous.
A digital garden is more serendipitous than a blog: there's no reverse chronological list of posts. Instead, content is linked within the text, so you can meander through related ideas and possibly find yourself following a tangent into a rathole.
I can't promise there won't be weeds. I like to tinker, and sometimes, I break stuff. But, I'll try to keep things reasonably tidy.
