I want to be Edith when I grow up

Sometimes, as I'm reading somebody's blog post, I have thoughts about it, and I open up Obsidian and start jotting them down, even before I finish reading the blog post. This is one such time. The ending of John P. Weiss's post was certainly not what I was expecting, and totally changed my initial thoughts. Oh well. So, maybe to put things in context, you should go read the first few paragraphs of this and come back here before you read the ending.

I want to be Edith when I grow up. I want to be quirky and funny. I want to be nosy and outspoken - but also kind and useful.

Carry yourself like you're worth something, even if you haven't found your self-respect yet. - Edith

Right now, I'm not old enough to pull any of this off, but I'm weird enough to try. Well, except for the farting and belching. My mother tried to teach me to be ladylike.

OK. You can go read the rest now. To be honest, the ending didn't change anything. I still want to be Edith when I grow up.
